Random Catastrophe

You know I’ve always thought of myself as the giving and generous type. I mean I let people like him and dwmmx walk around and tell people they’re my friends. The mere fact I even talk to this guy or this guy is further proof.

I’m so generous I don’t make fun of his country or his accent and I’ve even let this one send me money. So that should prove to everyone that what I say is true, I’m a very giving soul.

Now right now you’re probably thinking I should get to the point and explain how this relates to you. See how selfish you are? Anyway, I’m going to go ahead and do that because once again I’m a giving man.

The newest feature of this here website is designed for all of you users of Facebook which is probably a lot of you.

Now if you look in the sidebar of this website or on the registration page you’ll see a login with Facebook button.

Rather than filling out the registration form, simply click that button. A page will come up with the Random Catastrophe facebook application. Simply click connect and another dialog will open to confirm your email address. Click allow, and boom! instant account on this here site fully connected to your FB account.

This means you’ll have access to our:

• Groups (create and join them)
• Forums (create and join them)
• Profiles
• Upload your avatar and some Photos
• Post and vote on links
• Activity stream
• embed videos right in to your activity stream
• Ability to comment on posts
• Ability to read member’s only content
• The chat (which I think is better than facebook’s anyway)
• The ability to create your own blog (coming soon)
• and who knows whatelse we’ll be rolling out soon?

All of this comes to you at the high cost of $0.00!

Now I know what you people who already registered are thinking. That’s nice but what about me, I’ve got an account already.

Well, if you used the same email address to create your account here that is connected to your facebook account, all you have to do is click the login via facebook button, click connect, click allow and your two accounts will be integrated with no trouble.

So there you go. I have over 500 friends on Facebook, none of whom have an excuse not to sign up here. Okay, they probably still have excuses but none of them are good and or valid. Laziness – which plagues even I – is not an excuse as it is a two click process.

One last thing, if you are wondering why we want your email address it is so you can get notifications relating to your site activity. These notifications can be configured to your own needs in your notifications pannel on your profile.

The other reason is so that we can match users who have already signed up with their email address to their facebook account (assuming they didn’t use a different email address for each) eliminating duplicate registrations.

Well, honestly registering is thanks enough. Joining me for a chat sometime would be even better.

Seriously though, I’ve tried to make this post humorous but I do enjoy providing this option to all you fine people.
